Prosthodontics

From removable dentures to bonded ceramic restorations

Teeth sometimes loose structural integrity. Whether due to cavities, breakage, cracked old filling material or uneven surfaces. We use the most advanced composite resin and ceramic materials to restore a tooth to natural and functional aesthetics.
Small structural issues can be dealt with using bonded direct composite resin restorations, these are placed directly into the tooth and polymerized. These restorations can last a very long time and require periodic maintenance.
However, larger structural compromise requires us to use a stronger more resistant material. Our aim is to protect the tooth and not further compromise it structurally. For that purpose we use procedures such as Onlays, Overlays and crowns.
Dentures remain a well-used and traditional means of restoring the spaces resulting from tooth loss. Dentures come in many forms – they can be full or complete dentures if all teeth are lost, or partial if only some teeth are lost. Dentures are made from a variety of materials including acrylic and chrome. Dentures are relatively quick to produce but are a removable solution.

Dental Implants

replacement of a missing tooth with a fixed solution using a titanium root replicate

A dental implant is a titanium post that is surgically placed into the bone to replicate a natural tooth root. An abutment and crown are then attached on top of the implant to take the place of the tooth. There are numerous reasons why people prefer implants, including overall look and feel, and the longevity of the results. Implants also offer more stability because they fuse to your bone, a process called osseointegration.

Aesthetic Dentistry

Aesthetic dentistry focuses on improving the dental aesthetic form and function for patients either needing or desiring oral restoration that enhances their looks and smile. There are a number of different types of Aesthetic Dental treatments depending on individual diagnosis or what is desired by patients, such as tooth whitening, composite or ceramic veneers and ceramic crowns.

Common symptoms include: Jaw pain, noise or locking, limited jaw opening, atypical tooth pain, ear pain, headache, neck pain and also persistent pain after multiple dental procedures.

Periodontics is the dental specialty focusing exclusively in the inflammatory disease that destroys the gums and other supporting structures around the teeth. A periodontist is a dentist who specializes in the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of periodontal disease.
Periodontists treat cases ranging from mild gingivitis to more severe periodontitis. Periodontists offer a wide range of treatments, such as scaling and root planning (the cleaning of infected root surfaces), root surface debridement (the removal of damaged tissue), and regenerative procedures (the reversal of lost bone and tissue). When necessary, periodontists can also perform surgical procedures for patients with severe gum disease.
